Injection Site Reactions: What Labels Report
Your product's label prints its own rate for injection site reactions, and the numbers differ from one product to the next1234. Below are those rates and what labels say about rotating sites, each with its date.
What the labels report
For an injection site reaction, tirzepatide's Zepbound label, dated Aug 28, 2026, reports 6% to 8% on tirzepatide and 2% on placebo1. Each label reports in its own format. Read each figure with its own label, not as one rate across products.
Saxenda's label, dated Jun 15, 2026, gives 13.9% on Saxenda and 10.5% on placebo2. Victoza's label, dated Nov 17, 2025, says reactions were reported in about 2% of treated adults3.
Trulicity's label, dated Aug 10, 2026, reports 0.5% in treated adults and 0.0% with placebo4. Keep these figures apart from the side effect rates in the same labels.
Antibodies and reaction rates
On Sep 2, 2026, the Zepbound label reports 11.3% in people with anti-tirzepatide antibodies and 1% in people without1. The Mounjaro label of that date reports 4.6% versus 0.7% across 7 trials5. Keep that comparison apart from the main trial table.
What labels say about rotating sites
The Wegovy label, dated Jun 30, 2026, says to change, or rotate, your injection site with each injection and not to use the same site every time6. Ozempic's label, dated Jun 10, 2026, uses the same wording7. The body map and areas named in patient instructions shows where those areas are.
Saxenda's label says to rotate sites within the same region and names cutaneous amyloidosis2. Victoza uses the same wording3. On Sep 2, 2026, the Zepbound and Mounjaro Instructions for Use named lipodystrophy and localized cutaneous amyloidosis15.
For insulin, MedlinePlus (Jul 21, 2024) says to keep a chart of the places you used and not use the same place every time8. NIDDK says repeated insulin shots in one spot could harden tissue9. ADA calls site rotation necessary for insulin10.
Keep a site and reaction log
Use the side effect log, the GLP-1 tracker, or the peptide tracker to record site, date and reaction wording in one place. You can also Log this injection and note a reaction.
